Controlled Blasts Drawing to a Close

Contractor reports that there are ten or fewer controlled blasts left on the starter tunnel at the south shaft. That means we can expect some blasting nearly every day for the next two weeks. But if all goes well, that would be the end of it. This would certainly be ahead of our previously announced schedule of mid-September to end the blasting activity. We'll post approximate times for next week's blasts as soon as they are confirmed.

Blast Schedule for Remainder of Week

Controlled blasts are scheduled for Wednesday at 11:00 am, Thursday at 9:00 am, and Friday at 10:00 am. We will provide you with updates if conditions in the field dictate any changes to the schedule.

The anticipated finish time for the controlled blasts is about one month or less with 4-5 shots per week. The starter tunnel is now 80 feet long. Final length will be approximately 100 feet.

The contractor continues to perform within the thresholds for noise, vibration and air quality standards. Measurements are conducted daily.

Dust Mitigation
