Increased Truck Traffic on Crystal Springs Road

The contractor at Harry Tracy Water Treatment Plant is conducting offhaul trucking operations this week and next week between 7am and 4pm. They are removing excavated dirt from the site now that the contractor has access to the disposal site.

We work to ensure that all trucks and equipment are compliant with the project’s CEQA mitigation measures and the Bay Area Air Quality Management District’s air emissions control standards.

All loads will be covered and trucks will undergo wheel washing before leaving the site.

Increased truck traffic is expected on Crystal Springs Road in San Bruno.  Pilot cars will escort trucks at all times and flaggers will be working at the gate to the Plant at Crystal Springs Road and Crestmoor Drive.

Less Evening/Weekend Work at Harry Tracy Water Treatment Plant

The construction team concluded its shutdown 5 days early and thus the demanding work hours to complete certain tasks under this deadline has relaxed.  The Plant has resumed regular water treatment plant operations as well as regular deliveries to the plant.

While daytime construction work will continue on our improvements projects, evening work has decreased. Weekend work will be reserved mostly for maintenance which is not expected to be disruptive.

Please call us 24 hours a day at (866) 973-1476 if you have any questions or concerns.

Winter Storm Season is Well Underway

By their nature, storms can cause damage in construction zones. Our management teams carefully plan for rain events and focus on safety needs for inclement weather. We take measures to protect work areas, and after rains we check for any necessary fixes.

As noted earlier, we are in the midst of a temporary "shut down" in regular plant operations at Harry Tracy. Night work, between 5:00 p.m. and 2:30 a.m., is taking place periodically through Monday, December 10th.

The plant is scheduled to be back in service by mid-December and must be capable of drawing water from the Crystal Springs system following heavy rainstorms this winter. We assure you, noise and vibration monitoring will take place during the evening shift although we do not anticipate disruptive activities.

Night Work Underway at Harry Tracy

As noted earlier, during this shutdown period our contractor may need to work double shifts. Now through November 21, the contractor will work evening shifts between 5:00 p.m. and 2:30 a.m., seven days a week.  We assure you, noise and vibration monitoring will take place during the evening shift although we do not anticipate disruptive activities.

Night work is anticipated periodically through Monday, December 10th, during this temporary "shut down" in plant operations. Crews are now preparing tunnels and transmission lines for upcoming concrete pours.  The plant is scheduled to be back in service by mid-December and must be capable of drawing water from the Crystal Springs system following heavy rainstorms this winter.

Harry Tracy Night Work Starts November 7

Our contractor at the Harry Tracy Water Treatment Plant will work evening shifts beginning on Wednesday, November 7 through Wednesday, November 21. This additional shift starts at 5:00 p.m. and will end by 2:30 a.m., weekdays only (Monday to Friday). Noise and vibration monitoring will take place during the evening shift to ensure compliance with legal limits.

Night work is anticipated periodically through Monday, December 10th, as the construction team takes advantage of a temporary "shut down" in plant operations. Crews will be preparing tunnels and transmission lines for upcoming concrete pours.

The Harry Tracy Water Treatment Plant is typically online during construction in order to draw raw water from the Crystal Springs Reservoir System and treat water for our wholesale customers. However, plant operations are occasionally shut down for designated short periods to allow for construction activities. Double shifts or 24-hour work are often required during these shut downs. The plant is scheduled to be back in service by mid-December and will be capable of drawing water from the Crystal Springs system following the winter rains.
